Vacenti Nursing Leader achieving Australia’s highest Nursing qualification
One of Vacenti’s Clinical Educators, Kath, is currently undertaking the prestigious Masters-level Nurse Practitioner qualification – a rare achievement that will make her one of the highest qualified nurses in the whole of Australia.
We are exceptionally proud of Kath who already has a Masters in Gerontology to her name, along with more than 25 years’ experience in nursing.
Vacenti is passionate about investing in exceptional specialised aged care and nursing leadership, and we are thrilled to be financially sponsoring Kath in her Nurse Practitioner studies.
Once she graduates in 2021, Kath will be qualified to function as a high-level consultant for facility managers and Registered Nurses across all Vacenti communities. She will be able to review resident’s health care, prescribe medications, and be directly involved in holistic clinical outcomes.
Working collaboratively with GPs and other health professionals, Kath’s Nurse Practitioner qualification will enable faster care interventions and high-level nursing continuity for our residents.
Leading with clinical excellence and innovation
As a respected member of Vacenti’s clinical team, Kath already plays an integral role in the coaching, mentoring and professional development of both our clinical and care staff members. She facilitates education sessions and workshops using evidence-based, contemporary teaching practices to further equip our nurses and carers with the knowledge and skills they need to deliver the highest levels of personalised care.
Kath spends considerable time at each Vacenti community caring for our residents, and directly mentoring our nurses and clinical managers.
“My role as a Nurse Practitioner is to improve care outcomes for residents by leading my high-performing team in the very specialised field of aged care nursing. I love spending time with Vacenti residents to provide the very highest standards of timely and personalised care.”

Our ongoing commitment to care excellence
Vacenti’s organisation-wide approach to clinical excellence in care for our residents is also demonstrated via our thorough recruitment process and our innovative training facility.
We take great care in selecting medical and care professionals based on both their exceptional skills, and their caring and personal approach. Candidates undergo a thorough recruitment process that includes behavioural testing, a literacy test, group and individual role plays and formal interviews to carefully assess whether they align with Vacenti’s values and are genuinely the right fit for our culture.
Our ongoing program of clinical education and training includes regular sessions held at the Vacenti Learning Hub. These interactive and practical sessions are run by Kath and our other Nurse Educators who have significant experience in aged care. They work with our staff to constantly improve their skill levels, and their focus on understanding and responding to residents’ needs.
