Marebello was very fortunate to co-host with the Mater hospital Redlands and the Redland City Council, 38 students from Gifu University, Japan.
Students and staff were treated to a tour of the Home as well as partake in a quick educational on how we train staff to care for our resident cohort. It is safe to say that both tour group and staff at Marebello had a great time and our residents loved the additional attention.
It was interesting to discuss, briefly, the differences between Aged Care in both of our countries. Vacenti Aged Care prides itself in the continually updating of skills and best practice. Building networks Nationally and Internationally to discover better practise in care is something that is in built within our company DNA. We certainly look forward to the next visit by Gifu University and look forward to a long relationship into the future.

Vacenti partners with AADA College and Osmac to provide Traineeships for School based Trainees. Our Trainees are currently in Year 11 at Highschool and are undertaking a Certificate 3 in Health Service Assistance. They attend a Vacenti home once a week to put their knowledge and skills into practice. AADA is the registered Training organisation who educates these students and Vacenti is the host employer. Osmac is the group training organisation (GTO) that hires the trainees and places them with us as their host employer. Vacenti supports young people in their studies and offers excellent opportunities for employment post Traineeship.

Vacenti partners with Tafe Qld to offer placement to Diploma of Nursing students. Our Nurse Trainers facilitate placement to ensure students have a positive experience and put their knowledge into action. They participate in personal care activities, lifestyle activities and nursing activities while on placement. Vacenti offers employment opportunities to students post placement.

Vacenti partners with Bond University to offer placement to 4th year medical students. This provides an excellent opportunity for these students to see aged care firsthand and to understand the special needs of older people. These students participate in cares, nursing activities, complete rounds with our GP’s, spend time with allied health professionals, provide education to our staff and much more.
